Frieslandcampina Engro Pakistan Limited (PSX: FCEPL) executed a massive corporate turnaround in the first nine months of 2026, tripling its net profit to Rs6.46 billion as aggressive debt deleveraging and operational cost controls fundamentally insulated the dairy manufacturer from macroeconomic headwinds.

The fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) giant reported a 209.2% surge in net earnings for the nine-month period ending September 30, 2026, radically expanding from the Rs2.09 billion baseline established during the corresponding period last year. Reflecting this explosive bottom-line expansion, basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) skyrocketed to Rs8.43, up from Rs2.73 in 9MCY25.

The aggressive financial momentum was sustained through the third quarter (Q3CY26), where net profit expanded by 2.7x to hit Rs2.07 billion, yielding a quarterly EPS of Rs2.69. This marked a stark operational contrast to the Rs773.80 million profit and Rs1.01 EPS recorded in Q3CY25.

The primary catalyst driving the strong nine-month financial performance was a 34.9% expansion in gross profit, engineered by steady revenue growth that heavily outpaced the cost of production.

Net revenue from contracts with customers grew 10.1% to Rs88.36 billion, up from Rs80.23 billion. Concurrently, the cost of sales was contained to a modest 4.7% increase, settling at Rs68.93 billion. This critical spread allowed gross profit to jump to Rs19.42 billion, compared to Rs14.39 billion in the prior-year period.

On the operational front, the company deployed heavier capital into market penetration, with distribution and marketing expenses rising 19.2% to Rs6.84 billion. However, administrative overhead was strictly managed, declining 3.6% to Rs1.43 billion.

Other operating expenses expanded sharply by 65.4% to Rs830.46 million. This operational drag was mitigated by a 20.9% increase in “other income” reaching Rs346.21 million, ultimately pushing the corporate operating profit up 53.4% to Rs10.67 billion.

Below the operating line, FCEPL achieved massive debt-servicing relief. Finance costs tumbled by 57.8% to Rs462.23 million, a dramatic drop from the Rs1.10 billion burden shouldered in 9MCY25.

“This reduced financial burden pushed profit before income tax up 74.2% to Rs10.21 billion.”

Despite the massive pre-tax gains, the company absorbed a flat corporate income tax charge of Rs3.74 billion for the period, marginally lower than the Rs3.77 billion recorded in the previous year.

Backed by solid top-line revenue growth, strict overhead discipline, and substantial deleveraging savings, Frieslandcampina Engro Pakistan Limited securely closed the nine-month period with immense liquidity and margin strength.
