Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited has officially greenlit a major expansion and sustainability drive, securing board approval for the acquisition of five industrial plots spanning a combined 43.75 acres at SITE, Nooriabad, alongside comprehensive renewable energy installations.

In a formal regulatory disclosure submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company confirmed that its board of directors cleared the transactions during a meeting held on October 24, 2026. The newly approved land acquisitions comprise Plot B-80A covering 12 acres—inclusive of land, buildings, allied equipment, and fittings—alongside Plot B-153 measuring 18 acres, Plot B-236 covering 4 acres, Plot A-473 spanning 8 acres, and Plot B-268 measuring 1.75 acres. All five real estate transactions remain subject to thorough due diligence and the completion of necessary corporate, regulatory, and legal formalities.

Finalising Previous Acquisitions and Site Expansion

Separately, the textile major announced the successful completion of its previously disclosed acquisition of Plot A-44 at SITE, Nooriabad, in District Jamshoro. This earlier transaction, initially made public on November 20, 2025, encompasses the complete land parcel, physical structures, plant, machinery, allied equipment, and operational fittings. By consolidating these adjacent properties, the company is positioning itself for a larger, more integrated manufacturing setup in one of Sindh’s primary industrial hubs.

Integrating Wind, Solar, and Battery Storage

Alongside its physical expansion, Gul Ahmed is significantly bolstering its green energy infrastructure to mitigate rising utility costs and reduce its operational carbon footprint. The board approved the deployment of a 7.5 MW wind turbine sourced from Goldwind, with project execution managed through Orient Energy Systems (Private) Limited.

This will be complemented by a solar power project with a capacity of up to 6 MW, utilising high-efficiency panels supplied by JinkoSolar Holding Co., Ltd. and local engineering works undertaken by A2Z Energy Systems (Private) Limited. To ensure grid stability, intermittent load management, and energy optimisation, the company has additionally approved a 20 MWh battery energy storage system featuring a 0.5C rating, procured from Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. through Orient Energy Systems.

Governance and Administrative Authorisation

To facilitate the execution of these strategic initiatives, the board has granted full authority to the Chief Executive Officer to independently complete all necessary transactions and regulatory filings. Chief Financial Officer Muhammad Kashif Riaz and Company Secretary Salim Ghaffar have also been jointly authorised to oversee and finalise the administrative formalities. While the formal disclosure omitted the financial valuation of the land acquisitions and energy projects, the capital commitment underscores Gul Ahmed’s long-term strategy to scale its industrial capacity while transitioning toward sustainable captive power generation.
