Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO) has officially signed a Sale Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Oman’s OQ Trading Limited to secure ongoing supplies of petroleum products. According to a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday, the formal agreement was executed on October 8, 2026, solidifying energy trade ties between the two nations.

The SPA was finalized under an existing Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) established between Islamabad and Muscat on May 14, 2018. Under this bilateral framework, OQ Trading Limited—formerly known as Oman Trading International Limited—was nominated as the official representative entity for Oman, while PSO was designated to act on behalf of the Government of Pakistan.

Following the 2018 mandate, PSO management engaged in extensive negotiations with OQ Trading to draft a comprehensive supply framework. The final agreement was formally executed this week after clearing mandatory regulatory hurdles, including final approvals from both PSO’s Board of Management and the federal cabinet.

Undisclosed Financials and Regulatory Compliance

While the notification confirmed the execution of the supply framework, PSO did not disclose specific operational metrics in its regulatory filing. Financial valuations, anticipated supply volumes, pricing mechanisms, and future delivery schedules remain confidential at this stage.

The corporate disclosure was submitted in strict compliance with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1(a) of the PSX Regulations, which mandate listed companies to disclose material information regarding international agreements and operational developments.
