Toyota Indus Motor Company has officially halted production of the current pre-facelift Corolla in Pakistan, opting to introduce a third superficial refresh of the aging 11th-generation platform rather than upgrading the local market to the global standard.

While international markets transitioned to the 12th-generation Corolla in 2018, the local assembler continues to extend the lifecycle of the existing architecture through a strategy of staggered “facelifts.”

“Crucially, while global markets have moved on to the 12th-generation Corolla since 2018, this forthcoming update confirms that Toyota has no immediate plans to introduce the 12th-generation model locally, choosing instead to extend the life of the existing 11th-generation through facelifts in Pakistan.”

Recent spy photographs of dealer test units confirm this upcoming third iteration. The structural foundation of the vehicle remains identical, with modifications isolated to exterior cosmetic components and minor functional additions.

The leaked images reveal the following updates:

  • A revised front grille and redesigned front bumper.

  • New alloy wheels.

  • Minor structural adjustments to the rear bumper.

  • The inclusion of front parking sensors, a feature entirely absent from the outgoing models.

Interior modifications remain unverified, pending official disclosure from the manufacturer.

This strategy of incremental updates defines the 11th-generation Corolla’s extended tenure in Pakistan.

The model’s historical upgrade path includes:

  • 2017 (First Facelift): Introduced standard dual SRS airbags across the lineup, a chrome front grille, and LED headlights featuring daytime running lights.

  • 2021 (Second Facelift): Launched the “Corolla X” package, which added aggressive body styling, extended bumper lips, and a full black interior restricted to top-tier trims.

Toyota Pakistan has yet to issue an official release date or promotional material for this third update, but the immediate removal of the current model from their active production lineup indicates an imminent market launch.
